Nordic Swan Ecolabel

DOCUMENTED REQUIREMENTS

THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE LIFE CYCLE

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the official eco-label of the Nordic region. It is a third-party certification scheme in which requirements are set for each individual product throughout its entire life cycle — from raw materials and chemicals to production, packaging and disposal. The requirements become stricter with each new generation of standards, and the licence must be renewed.

Our Linoleum acoustic panels and selected timber panels are Nordic Swan Ecolabelled under licence no. 5031 0143.

Poor acoustics can detract from the experience of a space — in the workplace, in public spaces and in private homes. With a Nordic Swan Ecolabelled acoustic panel, you get a sound solution where environmental and indoor climate requirements have been set and verified by an independent third party. You don’t have to take our word for it.

WHAT THE SWAN LABEL REQUIRES

The Swan label is a Type 1 eco-label (ISO 14024). The requirements are set by Nordic Ecolabelling and verified by Ecolabelling Denmark. For our Swan-labelled acoustic panels, this means, amongst other things:

  • Raw materials: There are requirements regarding the origin of the timber. The timber in our panels is FSC®-certified (FSC® C165957).
  • Chemicals and indoor air quality: There are limit values for substances and for emissions into the indoor air. The panels have been tested against these requirements.
  • Production: There are requirements regarding resource and energy consumption, as well as packaging in the production process.
  • Durability: There are requirements regarding the product’s quality and lifespan.
  • Monitoring and renewal: Compliance with the requirements is documented for Eco-labelling Denmark, and the licence must be renewed with each new generation of requirements.

AND THE LICENCE NUMBER

If you’re choosing acoustic panels, look for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the corresponding licence number. This means that the product has been assessed by an independent third party against a publicly available set of requirements. You can read the requirements and see what they cover at Miljømærkning Danmark.
